Many festivals in Maharashtra were celebrated in low profile and with simplicity due to the spread of coronavirus. Meanwhile, Shiv Jayanti is being celebrated today, with covid-19 restrictions. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis has compared the ruling Mahavikas Aghadi government in the state to Mughals due to restrictions on Shiv Jayanti celebrations.

Fadnavis compared the state government to Mughals for its role in the Shiv Jayanti and inflated electricity bills.

He was speaking today when he attended the Shiv Jayanti celebrations in Nagpur. The BJP leader said the Uddhav Thackeray government is allowing large gatherings by ruling parties, but appealing others to avoid crowding to curb the spread of coronavirus.

"However, we pointed out to him that this message should be given to political parties sharing power with him. They should be the ones who should be following Covid-19 guidelines strictly."
