Coronavirus continues to plague the Kalyan-Dombivali region in Maharashtra and the number of corona patients has recently crossed the 30,000 mark in the twin city. 

While the recovery rate is satisfactory at 86 per cent, the mortality rate has increased by 1.08 per cent over the last few months. The mortality rate earlier was 1.09. At present, the rate is 2.17 per cent.

Meanwhile, the medical health department of KDMC has claimed that the death rate in KDMC area is less than other municipal corporations.

According to reports, 32 members of the family who came together for Ganpati festival in Kalyaan have tested Covid-19 positive. Shiv Sena corporator and former chairman Deepesh Mhatre has also contracted the virus he informed through a Facebook post.

In Kalyan-Dombivali, the coronavirus cases have started to rise again and over 400 new cases have been reported in the last three days.

On the other hand, 30 members of a family who came together for Ganpati festival in Kalyan have tested Covid-19 positive. A family of 40 had gathered for Aarti at Ganesh Utsav at Joshibagh in Kalyan. One of the children from the family contracted the virus. Later 30 out of 40 members tested positive, confirmed KDMC officer Dr. Pratibha Panpatil.
