In a shocking incident, a married man who was staying with his wife in Navi Mumbai, went missing since July after he called her wife to tell he has tested covid-19 positive.

According to police, the 28-year-old called up his wife in Navi Mumbai and said that he had tested Covid-19 positive and he was going to die. On call he didn't share details about his whereabouts and switched off the phone.

On July 24 his brother-in-law found his motorbike abandoned on the road after which the family lodged a missing complaint.

When policed launched the search and found the man in Indore with his lover with whom he was having an extramarital affair.

As per a report in The TOI, after chasing the man for months he was brought back to Navi Mumbai. Police have now handed him over to his wife.

The Police searched him at covid testing centres, hospitals and even the Vashi creek after his bike was recovered from Vashi. The search operation became difficult for the police officials with his phone being switched off, it became even more difficult to trace the man.

Finally the phone was traced to Indore last week where the police found him living with a fake identity at a rented accommodation. This is when they learnt about his extramarital affair as well.
