The number of coronavirus cases in the country is increasing rapidly with Maharashtra being the worst hit state. The state has reached 37,136 mark in the number of cases. The state authorities have been making efforts to curb the spread of the deadly disease. The lockdown has been extended to May 31 in the state and the state government on Tuesday announced new rules for the fourth phase of the lockdown.

Meanwhile the opposition has been constantly attacking the state government for failing to tackle the coronavirus crisis situation.

Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to break the alliance with Congress and NCP. Swamy made the remarks while sharing an article title - President’s Rule, the only way out in Maharashtra? Maharashtra has witnessed a huge spike in COVID-19 cases, even though the number of patients who have recovered and have been discharged is also increasing.

"Time is now or never: Uddhav break the alliance now otherwise NCP and Congress will destroy you by staged events," Swamy Tweeted.
