A massive fire broke out at a COVID-19 hospital in Ulhasnagar in Thane district on Sunday night.

The incident took place around 9 pm at a private hospital. The fire erupted due to a short-circuit in an air- conditioning unit. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. No casualties or injuries were reported.

20 patients were shifted to other medical facilities. This was the third reported fire incident in Thane district and the second in Ulhasnagar in a span of 24 hours.
