The path to software engineering for Mohit started when he discovered his curiosity about the field. During his middle school years he learned BASIC programming, which led him to start experimenting with code. The beginning of his programming journey lacked specific goals because he wanted to understand how things worked. His curiosity about programming resulted in developing an address book system for his father's company and making recreational games. The hobby that others might have ignored transformed into his life passion, which defined who he was. During his high school time in Nagpur, Maharashtra, he learned C programming, which resulted in his top performance in the class. The academic achievement provided him with more than a grade point because it proved that this direction had genuine value for his future. “It felt like magic,” Mohit recalls. The process of writing abstract code led to the creation of a tangible, working program on his screen. I was hooked.

From Small Town to Big Dreams

During his time at JNEC in Sambhaji Nagar (formerly known as Aurangabad), his interests started to develop. The Information Technology curriculum at JNEC provided him with fundamental knowledge of software systems design yet the urban environment of the city expanded his perspective. The city of Aurangabad created an incredible blend between its historical heritage and its forward-thinking spirit. Students from small towns filled the classrooms with their large aspirations as they studied for GRE exams and submitted applications to foreign educational institutions, which created an exciting atmosphere, according to Mohit. The motivational atmosphere of his college environment pushed Mohit to start preparing for the GRE during his engineering studies. The pursuit of a U.S. degree served as his next intellectual milestone after completing his current educational path.

Leaping Across Oceans

During his time at the University of Florida, Mohit dedicated himself to studying large-scale software engineering. He no longer worked on school assignments because he learned to develop systems that could provide services to millions of users. He dedicated himself to understanding the user while he explored complex technical aspects of development. The question of who uses this system and why fascinated him throughout his entire journey. The question led him toward mobile development. After earning his master's degree, he joined Epic Systems to develop mission-critical healthcare applications. His first experience of developing software that people depend on occurred during his time at the company.

Finding Home in Silicon Valley

After following his exploratory nature, Mohit relocated to the West Coast, where he became AppDynamics' inaugural Android engineer. The team was small, the opportunity immense. As a member of the founding team, Mohit designed the mobile application architecture from the beginning and then observed the company reach a $3.7 billion acquisition milestone with Cisco. He describes the experience as “wild” because of how much influence a small, quick-moving team can generate. During this phase, Mohit started to transition his curiosity towards new directions. His focus expanded from building to understanding product functionality and growth potential.

Engineering Growth, Not Just Code

After years of writing code, launching features, and scaling infrastructure, Mohit found himself drawn to a new challenge: growth. He had already been working on small side projects, experimenting with SEO, onboarding flows, and retention loops. These experiments turned into insights. He joined Wealth front as part of the initial growth team formation. The work combined everything he loved—data, experimentation, product, and engineering. During his time at the company, Mohit assisted the business expansion from $20 billion to $80 billion in assets under management through his development of scalable business systems and user engagement strategies.

A Curiosity That Keeps Moving

The path of Mohit reveals an open mindset because he allows his questions to direct his journey. The journey from BASIC programming on his Itarsi home computer to mobile application development at AppDynamics and side projects to leading growth at Wealth front happened through continuous questioning of What if? Mohit maintains his curiosity through his work as he mentors engineers and scales startups while exploring new ideas during his weekend free time. His curiosity has brought him success in all his endeavors.
