Two new strains of coronavirus have been found in Maharashtra and Kerala. The first strain of corona was found in Britain. After which a new variat was detected in Japan, South Africa.

Now the new strain namely N440 K and E484Q in Maharashtra and Kerala is said to be more dangerous than the previous ones, said the director of PGIMER Chandigarh.

The director said that the new strain of corona found in India is more dangerous than the strain of Europe. This makes it possible for the strain to transmit rapidly.

Maharashtra and Kerala have the highest number of new coronavirus cases in the country. The central government has said that there is no correlation between the two. According to the ICMR, these corona strains do not currently account for the growing number of patients.

Dr Balram Bhargava, Director General of ICMR pointed: "There is no direct relation between the recent surge in COVID19 cases in Maharashtra and some other States with the mutant virus strains N440K and E484Q of coronavirus disease."

Dr VK Paul, Member (Health) of the NITI Aayog said, the UK's SARS-CoV-2 strain has infected 187 people in the country so far. Six people have been found so far due to the South African strain. One person is infected from Corona, Brazil. So far 3,500 people have been tested.

The two new variants of SAR4-CoV-2 found in India were in the states of Maharashtra, Kerala and Telangana.

Research has begun on the genomes of both of these new strains. There are currently less than one and a half lakh active patients in the country.
