UDID Card Deadline Date Extended: Maharashtra Govt Extends Unique Disability Identity Card Till September 30

The Maharashtra government has extended the deadline till September 30 for persons with disabilities (PwDs) covered under various welfare schemes to obtain their Unique Disability Identity (UDID) cards to receive benefits without any interruption.

State Minister for Divyang Welfare Atul Save said that the decision, taken on the initiative of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, ensures that eligible beneficiaries without a UDID card will continue to receive financial assistance under special aid grant schemes.

The Social Justice and Special Assistance Department implemented several welfare schemes, including the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana, Shravanbal Seva State Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme.

This will provide significant relief to approximately 1.50 lakh differently-abled beneficiaries in the state, and the benefits of the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, Shravan Bal Yojana, as well as other schemes, will continue without interruption. Those who do not yet have a UDID card will not have their grants stopped.
