A few days ago, famous Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh received a threatening voice note, in which the Bishnoi gang demanded 10 crore rupees. The actor’s manager allegedly received a threatening voice note demanding Rs 10 crore in the name of the Bishnoi gang.
According to sources, the threatening voice message was sent from an American phone number. Mumbai Police officials confirmed that the Crime Branch is currently following due protocol to obtain details of the number by contacting the concerned agency in the United States.
Preliminary investigations by the Mumbai Crime Branch have revealed that Harry Boxer, believed to be one of the close associates of the Bishnoi gang, allegedly sent the voice note threatening Ranveer Singh and demanding Rs 10 crore as extortion.
During the initial probe, investigators confirmed that the voice in the WhatsApp voice note received on the manager’s phone matches that of Harry Boxer. However, the Crime Branch is in the process of collecting further evidence to substantiate the findings.
Officials said that the voice note was sent after the firing incident outside Rohit Shetty’s residence. The threat message was received on the mobile phone of Ranveer Singh’s manager soon after the firing episode.
Following the threat, security around Ranveer Singh has been tightened. The Crime Branch has recorded the statement of the actor’s manager and is continuing its investigation.
As of now, no FIR has been registered in the matter. However, police have initiated a preliminary inquiry.
