Disha Salian Death Case: Parents Demand Fresh Probe, Allege Gang-Rape and Murder; Name Aaditya Thackeray in Petition
Disha Salian's parents have filed a petition demanding a fresh probe into her death, alleging that she was gang-raped and murdered. This has once again sparked controversy. The petition makes serious allegations against the Mumbai Police and names Aaditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea. It accuses the Mumbai Police and former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar of misleading and pressuring them.
Disha's parents have also urged that the case be investigated by an agency like the NIA, under the leadership of an officer like Sameer Wankhede. Kishori Pednekar, a leader of the Thackeray faction and former mayor of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), was the first to respond to the petition.

"Disha Salian's father has made no such allegations. I visited their house after her death, and the media was present at the time. I had an open discussion with Disha's parents, and I even spoke to her father about how his wife makes different chutneys," said Pednekar.
She further claimed that with municipal elections approaching, new allegations are being made repeatedly. "Disha Salian's father had come to the mayor's bungalow and made a request in writing. I also received multiple calls regarding the matter," Pednekar added.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Nitesh Rane, who has consistently accused Aaditya Thackeray of being involved in the case, has once again launched an attack. After Disha's father moved the High Court seeking a probe, Rane alleged that Aaditya Thackeray was involved in her murder and that her father has been naming the same individuals since day one.
The petition reportedly details the actions taken by then-Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to protect Aaditya Thackeray. Rane questioned, "What will those who accused us of lying do now?"
NCP-SCP MLA Rohit Pawar said "Disha Salian's father has gone to court. He has named Aaditya Thackeray, but we are sure Aaditya Thackeray has nothing to do with this. We are with him, but let the court decide... If a person is trying to get justice, he should get justice. But if you look at the BJP, they will now start doing politics on it."

"Four years ago Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. Immediately after the suicide, such banners were put up in Bihar only for the Bihar elections. Now after four years, the BJP will take this issue forward because there are elections in Bihar after four months and elections in Mumbai after 6 months," said Rohit Pawar.

Shiv Sena UBT leader and MP Sanjay Raut said the Aurangzeb row backfired on the BJP, and dirty politics has been played in Maharashtra. "They (BJP) failed to use the topic of Aurangzeb in Maharashtra, it backfired. Now, to get rid of it, they are fanning the Disha Salian case. This is politics, however, Maharashtra is getting defamed by such dirty politics. Attempts being made to defame a young leader (Aaditya Thackeray), who is doing good work. It is an attempt to defame our party," Raut added.
