The Crime Branch has arrested two more accused in the Ghatkopar hoarding case. One of them is Janhavi Marathe, who had absconded after her anticipatory bail plea was rejected. The other accused is Sagar Patil, who had taken the contract for making the hoarding. Both were arrested by the Crime Branch in Goa and will be brought to Mumbai by the police on Sunday.

A Crime Branch official mentioned that Janhavi fled Mumbai after the court denied her anticipatory bail. The police had been trying to locate her but were unsuccessful until they discovered she was hiding in Goa. A police team tracked her down in Goa and arrested her. Additionally, the police arrested Sagar Patil, whose name emerged during the investigation and was found in Goa.

According to information received from the police, the arrests of Marathe and Patil are expected to lead to significant revelations in the case. Janhavi Marathe was working as the director of Ego Media Private Limited. In December 2023, she resigned from the position, and Bhavesh Bhinde became the director. The permission letter submitted to the GRP also bore Janhavi's signature, which led to her arrest by the police.

On the afternoon of May 13, 17 people died in an accident caused by a large hoarding falling on a petrol pump in Ghatkopar. A case has been registered against Bhavesh Bhinde and others, directors of EGO Media Pvt. Ltd., which had the lease contract for the hoarding. In connection with this case, Bhavesh Bhinde and Manoj Sanghu have been arrested by the special investigation team (SIT) of the Crime Branch, and both are currently in judicial custody.
