In a post on his official 'X' handle, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra slammed the Mumbai police. As part of their investigation into Kunal Kamra's alleged derogatory remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Mumbai Police teams arrived at Dadar on Monday, where Kamra was reportedly living. The Khar Police Station called comedian Kunal Kamra in for interrogation. Police officers then visited his home. According to the IANS report, the investigation's goal has not yet been made public. Since comedian Kunal Kamra has not been in touch with the police, there is a great deal of confusion around whether he will appear before Mumbai's Khar Police on Monday to give a statement, according to an official. Kamra's lawyer claims that on March 24, Kamra received a summons from Khar Police asking him to come to an inquiry on Monday, but they sent him to his parents' house in Mumbai instead. In response, Kamra sent a letter stating that he was not in Mumbai due to other obligations, but he offered to come on April 2.
Due to his alleged divisive remarks on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Kunal Kamra was previously the subject of three different cases at the Khar police station. According to the Mumbai Police, the mayor of Jalgaon city submitted one of the complaints, and a hotelier and a businessman from Nashik filed the other two. Kamra has not yet shown up for the investigation despite two calls from the Khar police to be questioned.
