The Maharashtra Cyber Department has arrested the accused in an online harassment case involving Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar's minor daughter. Yashasvi Yadav, Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra Cyber, confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody after an investigation into the matter.
The incident occurred when she was playing an online game, where she received several vulgar messages, asking her to send nude images online.
ADG Yadav, while speaking about the case at RD National College in Mumbai, said the Bollywood actor himself approached the police after his daughter reported the incident at home. He said Kumar had a very shocking story to share with the police. "Kumar said that his own daughter was being sextorted," Yadav stated, praising the 13-year-old daughter of the actor as "brave girl."
He added that the case was an example of how quickly online interactions can escalate into cybercrime risks. During the session, officials also played an old clip of Akshay Kumar where the actor had narrated the incident publicly in October 2025.

He said, “I would like to share a small incident with you, which happened at my home a few months ago. My daughter was playing a video game. There are some video games that you can play with someone, you are playing with an unknown stranger.”
“When you are playing, you get messages like ‘Thank you, that was great’ or ‘You are doing so good’. Suddenly, the person asked, ‘Where are you from?’ She said, ‘Mumbai’. Then everything was normal again,” he said.
The actor further added, “Then a message came, ‘Are you male or female?’ She replied, ‘Female’. After that, he sent a message asking, ‘Can you send me a nude picture of yours?’ My daughter switched off the game immediately and told my wife.”
