Mumbai University Staffer Caught on CCTV Taking Photos of BCom Question Papers
The BCom Semester VI exam question paper was captured on the phone of a contract staffer of Mumbai University in Kalina, inside the examination control room. The staff member identified as Sudesh Tukaram (40). The incident was recorded in the CCTV footage installed in the premises, according to The Times of India report.
Tukaram took photos of the question paper to take out prints. Police on Thursday filed a case against the accused for leaking question papers of the university. The Kalina campus of Mumbai University also served notice to the alleged accused staff and sacked him, along with three other contractual staff.
An FIR was registered on the complaint of the CDOE director and the chief conductor of the examination process, Professor Shivaji Sagar. The incident came to light on April 15, 2026, after the alert from the exam department. A review of CCTV footage confirmed the act and the accused admitted to the crime and forwarded images for financial benefits, as per TOI.
The incident is believed to have taken place between April 9 and April 16 at the university exam department. A case has been registered under the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices in University, Board and Other Examinations Act, 1982, along with relevant provisions of the IPC. Further inquiry is underway, TOI reported.
