Mahashivratri 2025: BEST To Run Extra Bus Services In Mumbai For Pilgrimers

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) Undertaking has announced the implementation of additional bus services to ensure the smooth transit of devotees going to various pilgrimage sites in Mumbai during Mahashivratri, on February 26.

The pilgrims travelling to important places of worship throughout the city will be served by these customised services.

The service to Kanheri Caves, a well-known location that sees a significant stream of devotees on Mahashivratri.  This will benefit devotees who will travel on this route.

Beginning early in the morning, BEST will add more bus services to Route No. 188 to handle the expected increase in passengers. Starting at 4:30 AM, the services will run at regular intervals until the end of the evening.

Additionally, pilgrims travelling to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, another well-liked spiritual location during Mahashivratri, will have access to special bus services.

Devotees travelling to and from the park will have smooth transit thanks to these buses, which will be available starting at 11:30 AM.

At Borivali Railway Station (East), BEST has erected temporary ticket stands so that customers can easily buy bus tickets to help them.

Additionally, to facilitate pilgrim travel, designated bus stations will be placed at strategic points along the pilgrimage routes, such as the entrance to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the petrol pump next to Borivali Railway Station (East), and Kanheri Caves.

Additional bus services will be offered to Babula Tank's Shiv Temple in recognition of the significant number of devotees that congregate there.

Worshippers will have hassle-free travel all day long because of the increased frequency of buses on Routes 70, 07, 66, 17, 66, and 103.

The BEST Undertaking wishes all devotees a safe and comfortable journey on Mahashivratri and encourages citizens to utilise these extra bus services.
