Recounting votes in Ward number 191 is likely to take place as the BJP candidate Priya Sarvankar objected to the outcome of the BMC election. This marks a second setback for Sada Sarvankar, following the earlier loss of Samadhan Sarvankar. Shiv Sena UBT candidate Vishakha Raut won from Ward number 191, Mahim, in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday, January 16.
A total of two candidates were in the fray in Ward No. 191. Vishakha Sharad Raut of Shiv Sena UBT faction, while Priya Sarvankar Gurav of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction).
Elections were held this year for 29 municipal corporations across 36 districts in Maharashtra. Voting for Ward No. 191 under the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Elections 2026 was held on January 15, 2026, and the results were declared on January 16, 2026.
According to the results of the 2017 Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Shiv Sena candidate Vishakha Sharad Raut won from Ward No. 191, Gandhi Nagar–Don Mill, by a margin of 10,660 votes. BJP candidate Tejashwi Vasant Jadhav finished second with 8,297 votes.
