BPJ candidate Nilesh Somaiya, Son of Kirit Somaiya, has won from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ward number 107 of Mulund West in Mumbai on Friday, January 16. The BJP won all six wards in Mulund, repeating its performance from the 2017 BMC elections in the area.
Independent candidate Dinesh Jadhav finished second with 6,224 votes. Neil Somaiya with 21229 over independent candidate Dinesh Jadhav with 6224 votes and got 15,005 votes in BMC elections 2026.
A total of seven candidates were in the fray in Ward No. 107. The candidates included Dr Neel Neil Somaiya of the BJP and Vaishali Sanjay Sakpal of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi.
The independent candidates were Sunil Hastimal Itodia, Dinesh Shankar Jadhav, Ganesh Prakash Thackeray, Dilip Jayantilal Shah, and Anand Laxman Shigande. With candidates from major political parties and several independents in the race, the contest in Ward No. 107 was closely fought, with attention focused on which way voters would lean.
Earlier, Somaiya was leading in second round with 12,856 votes and his nearest rival Dinesh Jadhav with 1787 votes in ward 107 in Mulund West.
