A shocking and disgraceful incident has come to light from the Kurar area of Mumbai, where an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly filmed a woman passenger without her consent and later attempted to blackmail her and force physical relations.

According to police officials, the victim had hired an auto from Kurar to travel to a KFC outlet in Malad. During the journey, the accused, identified as Mohammad Afzal Asif Khan, allegedly used his mobile phone to secretly record a video of the woman. Although the victim grew suspicious during the ride, she did not immediately confront him.

The situation escalated after they reached the destination. While the woman was making the payment, the accused allegedly continued recording her. When she objected, he reportedly threatened to make the video viral and attempted to coerce her into a physical relationship.

Alert traffic personnel from the Samta Nagar Traffic Police, who were present at the spot, acted promptly and detained the accused. He was later handed over to the Kurar Police for further action.

Kurar Police officer Umesh Patil stated that the victim’s statement has been recorded and a case has been registered against the accused under serious charges, including molestation, recording video without consent, criminal intimidation, and attempt to force physical relations.

The police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter and are also trying to ascertain whether the accused has been involved in similar offences in the past.
