Seven illegal Bangladeshi nationals who had been staying in Chembur's Mahul Gaon for five years were arrested by Mumbai's RCF Police on Friday, February 7. The arrests were made following a tip-off. A case has been registered against them, a Mumbai Police official told the news agency IANS.

Meanwhile, another Bangladeshi national has been arrested from the Mankhurd area for illegally residing in India without valid documents. The arrest was made on Thursday, following a tip-off.

The accused, identified as Zakir Hamid Sheikh, aged 46, was found to have entered India illegally and had been residing in Mumbai. A case has been registered against him under Sections 3, 6 of the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1950, Section 3(1) of the Foreigners Order, 1948, and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.

A police team, led by Senior Police Inspector Madhu Ghorpade, conducted a raid and apprehended Sheikh from near the Dabba Company in Mankhurd. The accused confessed to entering India illegally and was remanded to police custody for further investigation.
