In a major crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) Kandivali Unit arrested two accused from the Versova area with heroin worth crores of rupees. During the operation, police seized 765 grams of heroin valued at approximately ₹3.82 crore in the international market. The action has once again exposed the growing drug network operating in Mumbai.
The arrested accused have been identified as Armaan Ayub Malik (32) and Danish Bhoora Ali (23), both residents of Uttarakhand. According to police sources, the duo was allegedly bringing large quantities of heroin from Uttarakhand to Mumbai for distribution and sale. Acting on a tip-off, the ANC Kandivali Unit laid a trap and apprehended both accused from the Versova locality.
During the investigation, police discovered that the accused were living in a rented apartment in Mumbai, where they allegedly prepared small packets of heroin for distribution. These packets were then supplied to various parts of the city. Police claim that the seizure has helped uncover a major drug racket operating in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, another accused in the case is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him. Police are also probing the extent of the accused persons’ drug network in Mumbai. Investigators are further examining whether the narcotics were being supplied to individuals linked to the film industry.
The operation has created panic among drug trafficking gangs operating in the city, and further investigation is currently underway by the ANC.
