Mumbai Crime: Security Guard Allegedly Beaten to Death by Colleague in Wadala Over Love Affair

A 29-year-old security guard was allegedly beaten to death with an iron rod by his colleague in Mumbai’s Wadala area following a dispute over a love affair. The Matunga Police have registered a murder case against the accused, identified as Abhishek Kumar Singh, who is currently absconding.

The deceased, Ashu Kumar Anil Singh, a native of Baradi in Bihar’s Katnagar area, was residing in the Tulsiwadi locality of Tardeo. He was employed as a security guard through Smart Service Company at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s D Ward office in Tardeo. His mother and younger brother stay in their native village, while Ashu Kumar’s elder brother, Sarvesh Kumar Singh, works as a security guard at a construction site in Wadala.

According to police, the incident came to light around 11:15 pm on Saturday when Sarvesh Kumar received a phone call from their acquaintance Alok Kumar Singh, informing him that Abhishek Kumar Singh was brutally assaulting Ashu Kumar at the GDB construction site in Wadala and that he had sustained serious injuries.

After receiving the information, Sarvesh Kumar rushed to the spot along with his friend and found Ashu Kumar lying critically injured. He immediately informed the Mumbai Police Control Room. Matunga Police reached the scene and shifted the injured victim to Sion Hospital, where doctors declared him dead before admission.

Police said the victim had sustained severe injuries to his mouth, head, neck and forehead. An iron rod was found lying near the body, which is suspected to have been used in the assault.

During the investigation, police recorded Sarvesh Kumar’s statement, in which it was revealed that both Ashu Kumar and accused Abhishek Kumar Singh were in contact with a young woman from their native village for the past two months. The two reportedly had romantic relations with the woman. Police suspect that Abhishek Kumar was upset as Ashu Kumar frequently spoke to the woman over the phone, leading to repeated arguments between them.

On Saturday night, another argument reportedly broke out over the same issue, following which Abhishek Kumar allegedly attacked Ashu Kumar with the iron rod and killed him.

Based on the findings, Matunga Police registered a murder case against the accused. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot and is currently being traced. Police said Abhishek Kumar Singh also worked as a security guard at the same construction site and is a resident of Bhagalpur in Bihar.
