A brother and sister struggling with financial distress were found dead in their home in Vasai’s Evershine City after reportedly consuming poison. Their decomposed bodies were discovered 15 days after they died.

The deceased, identified as Hanumanta Sridhar Prasad, 40, and Yamuna Sridhar Prasad, 45, lived in Mangal Vandan Society. They had accumulated a debt of ₹25 lakh and had been seeking financial help from colleagues and their elder brother. Police believe they died by suicide due to the financial burden.

Their home remained locked for over two weeks, raising suspicion among neighbors. On Monday, the landlord detected a foul smell and contacted the police. Officers entered the apartment using a duplicate key and found the bodies in a decomposed state.

Police conducted a panchnama and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Achole police have registered a case and started further investigations.
