A fire broke out in scrap shops in Mumbai’s Mankhurd area, said the BMC on Friday, April 24. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the blaze spread quickly to five nearby shops.
After receiving the information, at least six fire tenders of Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) were rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Fire officer S.S Kudtarkar said that the fire department received a call at around 5.15 am and reached the spot at 5.30 am. "The affected area measured approximately 500 by 500 feet, and we deployed four to five vehicles to cover it."

No injuries have been reported in the incident so far, said BMC. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
