Mumbai Local Train Mega Block: Local train services in Central, Harbour, Western and other lines will be affected on Sunday, April 19, due to scheduled mega blocks announced by Central and Western Railway. The blocks will impact the Central, Harbour, Trans-Harbour and Western lines at different intervals through the day and overnight.

Central Line

On the Central Line, a 10-hour mega block will be carried out between Mulund and Dombivli on the intervening night of April 18 (Saturday) and 19 (Sunday), from midnight to 10 am the next day. The block will cover the Mulund–Thane and Diva–Dombivli sections on both up and down slow lines. The work includes the extension of platforms at Thane and Dombivli railway stations.

During this period, several slow-line local trains will be diverted to fast lines between Kalyan and Mulund, skipping Thakurli and Kopar railway stations. Some fast trains will make additional halts at Diva, Mumbra and Kalva. Suburban trains are expected to run around 15 minutes behind schedule. A number of local train services will be short-terminated or originate from intermediate stations such as Kurla, Thane, Mumbra and Kalyan.

Mail and express trains will also be diverted between Vidyavihar and Kalyan. The last slow line services before the block and the first services after the block will operate with revised timings.

Harbour Line

On the Harbour Line, local train services between Vashi and Panvel will remain suspended from 11.05 am to 4.05 pm on Sunday. Trains from Panvel towards CSMT and from CSMT towards Panvel and Belapur during this period will be cancelled. Special local trains will run between CSMT and Vashi.

Trans-Harbour Line

On the Trans-Harbour Line, only the Thane–Vashi section will remain operational between 11.05 am and 4.05 pm. Services between Thane and Panvel will remain cancelled during the block hours. Note, there will be no block on the Uran Line.

Western Line

On the Western Line, a five-hour jumbo block will be carried out between Santacruz and Goregaon on fast lines from 10 am to 3 pm for maintenance of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment. During this period, all fast trains will be diverted to slow lines, and some suburban services may be cancelled or short-terminated.

In addition, a three-hour night block will be undertaken between Palghar and Umroli from 11.15 pm on April 18 to 2.15 am on April 19 in connection with bridge work. Due to this, a few MEMU services between Virar and Dahanu Road will be cancelled.

Railway authorities have advised passengers to check with station masters for detailed schedules and plan their journeys accordingly.
