According to the report, the new suburban double-line corridor will enable local trains to run between Mumbai and Karjat via Panvel. The entire route includes three tunnels, two rail flyovers, 44 major and minor bridges, 15 road under-bridges, and seven road over-bridges. The Wavarle tunnel, at 2,625 meters, is the longest in the Mumbai suburban railway network. Additionally, the corridor features the Nadhal tunnel (219 meters) and the Kirawali tunnel (320 meters).
