Mumbai Local Train Update: Special Night Block Between Vasai and Virar; Check Details

Western Railway (WR) will impose a special night-time block on the intervening night of Saturday (February 21) and Sunday (February 22). This bllock annound by WR for the major infrastructure works, which include bridge construction and track maintenance, will affect several suburban local trains and long-distance trains, including mail and express trains, between Borivali, Virar and Dahanu Road.

While these blocks will lead to several night-time cancellations and delays, railway authorities have confirmed that no daytime blocks on Sunday, local trains will operate on the Western line this weekend.

Two separate blocks will be undertaken on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday (21–22 February) to facilitate both routine maintenance and new construction:

A four-hour block between Vasai Road–Virar block will be in effect on the Up and Down Slow lines from 12.15 AM to 4.15 AM. During this window, all slow suburban trains will be diverted to the Fast lines between Vasai Road and Virar.

The foot over bridge will be launched between Borivali and Dahisar railway station. To perform this infrastructure work, WR will imposed two hour block on all lines, which will take place from 02:10 am to 04:10 am. This work will cause delays to several early-morning suburban and Mail/Express trains.

Girder Launching: Boisar to Palghar

A dedicated traffic block has been scheduled for the launching of an RH girder between Boisar and Palghar stations. This work will span two consecutive nights:

A block on both Up and Down lines from 11:15 pm to 02:45 am. A block on the Down line from 02:10 am to 05:25 am.

The following suburban services have been cancelled for the night of Saturday, February 21:

Train No. 93039: Virar–Dahanu Road Local (Departing Virar at 21:20).

Train No. 93042: Dahanu Road–Virar Local (Departing Dahanu Road at 22:45).

Additionally, several long-distance trains will be regulated (delayed) between Surat and Virar. The Avadh Express is expected to be delayed by one hour, the Saurashtra Mail by 45 minutes, and the Bhuj–Bandra Terminus AC Superfast by 20 minutes. Two early-morning locals from Virar to Churchgate (90006 and 90018) will also be rescheduled to depart 15 minutes later than their original timings.
