Mumbai Local Train Update: Special Night Block on Western and Central Lines for Prabhadevi Bridge Demolition
Western and Central Railways will carry out extensive maintenance blocks between Saturday night, April 4 and Sunday night, April 5, 2026, affecting suburban services across multiple lines in Mumbai. The special night block on Central and Western lines has been imposed due to the demolition of the Prabhadevi Road Over Bridge (ROB).
Western Line
Western Railway (WR) has announced a special night block on the 5th line between Bandra Terminus and Bandra Railway Station. The local train services will run from 10:00 am on 4 April to 10:00 pm on 5 April. During this period, the LC-18 level crossing between these stations will remain closed to road traffic.
Additionally, a jumbo block on the up and down fast lines between Mumbai Central and Mahim is scheduled for the intervening night of April 4 and April 5 from 12:15 am to 04:15 am. All fast-line trains will operate on slow lines between Santacruz and Churchgate.
Central Line
Central Railway (CR) will impose special traffic and power blocks for platform extensions at Thane and Dombivli railway stations from 12 am on April 4 (Saturday) to 10:00 am on April 5 (Sunday). The block covers up and down slow lines from Mulund to Thane (excluding crossovers) and Diva to Dombivli (including platforms).
A separate block for dismantling the Prabhadevi ROB between Parel and Currey Road will be imposed from 11:15 pm on April 4 to 5:45 am on April 5, from Dadar to Byculla on all lines (excluding platforms and crossovers). Suburban services between CSMT and Dadar will be fully suspended from 10:30 pm on April 4 to 6:00 am on April 5.

Services between Thane and Dombivli will face intermittent cancellations, with some trains short‑terminated or originating from Dadar or Kurla. Slow services from Parel (22:49 pm on 4 April to 00:33 am on 5 April) and Vidyavihar (04:45 am to CSMT 09:05 am on 5 April) will divert onto fast lines between Mulund and Kalyan, skipping Kopar and Thakurli. Corresponding up slow diversions from Kalyan will apply.
Up and down fast services will make additional stops at Kalva, Mumbra, and Diva. All affected trains may run 15 minutes late. Detailed schedules are available at station masters’ offices and railway websites. Commuters should plan alternative travel, especially during the post‑Easter holiday period.
