Mumbai Police has intensified its focus on the Dongri area, known as the stronghold of Dawood Ibrahim, following the arrest of Danish Chicken, a member of the Dawood gang, in a drug-related case. In a recent operation, the Dongri Police apprehended Imran Yakub Shaikh with 940 grams of cocaine worth ₹4.5 crore.

According to police reports, Imran Shaikh was on his way to deliver the narcotic substance, which he was carrying in the boot of his motorcycle. Investigations are underway to determine the recipient of the drugs and whether Shaikh has any links with larger drug syndicates.

The arrest took place on December 16 during a routine patrol near Supari Wala Building in Nishanpada Cross Lane. Assistant Police Inspector Parimal Patil, along with Constables P.H. Mulani and P.S. Shinde, noticed a suspicious motorcycle in the area. Upon approaching the individual, his behavior aroused suspicion. As the police questioned him, he attempted to flee but was apprehended and taken to the Dongri Police Station for interrogation.

A thorough search of Shaikh's motorcycle revealed 940 grams of cocaine hidden in its boot. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Pravin Mundhe, the seized cocaine is valued at ₹4.5 crore.

The police are now probing deeper into the case to trace Shaikh’s connections and to determine the source and destination of the drugs.
