Metro Line-9 and 2B

Metro Line-9, which connects Dahisar East to Mira Bhayandar, is likely to be operational from today. Final touches at stations and escalators are nearing completion. The line has already received the necessary safety clearance.

After the inauguration, both these lines will be put into service on Wednesday. The first train will leave from Kashigaon Metro station at 5.50 am on Wednesday, and from Diamond Garden and Mandalay stations at 5.50 am. This line will help north and south commuters to travel at high speed and also reduce travel time.

Thane–Borivali Twin Tunnel Project

The twin tunnels work set to begin from today by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) aims to reduce traffic and distance between Thane and Borivali. The 11.84-km-long project is set to reduce travel time from 1.5 hours to just 15 minutes.

The construction involves twin tunnels under the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali and access roads liking the Western Express Highway at Borivali and Ghodbunder Road in Thane. The tunnel will be built using the most advanced TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) technology.

Pod Taxi Project

The Pod Taxi project in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) will be one of the first such projects in India. The construction will be taken by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). If the project is completed, it will create easy travel to 4 to 6 lakh corporate workers within BKC.
