The first phase of Mumbai Metro Line 9 between Kashigaon and Dahisar is likely to be inaugurated on April 3, 2026. However, no official statement from the Maharashtra government regarding this. The work on the 4.5 km elevated Metro stretch has completed trials and got clearance from the authority. The Phase I stretch includes four stations — Dahisar (East), Pandurang Wadi, Miragaon and Kashigaon — serving the growing Mira-Bhayandar region.

The Golden Nest flyover is also slated to be inaugurated and opened for motorists on the same day, according to The Times of India report. Bhayander BJP MLA Narendra Mehta shared a video on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) informing that the Metro Line 9 could be inaugurated on April 3, 2026.

"A Historic Step Towards the Development of Mira-Bhayandar 🚇 On April 3, 2026, the inauguration of the metro service (Metro Line 9) from Kashigaon to Dahisar is set to take place—this is not just a transportation facility, but a new identity for the region's progress, convenience, and bright future," wrote Narendra Mehta on X.

"This metro service will save citizens' time, make travel more comfortable, and give Mira-Bhayandar a new pace of development. This project will also strengthen the area's economic and social development," he added. "On this important occasion, it is a moment of pride and joy for all of us. eartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the residents of Mira-Bhayandar on this historic achievement!"

The inauguration event is expected to be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar. 

Mumbai Metro Line 9 is an extension of the operational Metro Line 7, which is from Dahisar to Gundavli. Commuters travelling from Mira Road will be able to travel directly to the Gudavli metro station in Andheri East without changing trains.

Passengers travelling towards the western suburbs can interchange at Dahisar to Metro Line 2A to reach Andheri West, which connects with DN Nagar Metro station on Metro Line 1.
