A minor dispute over parking a motorcycle turned fatal in Mumbai’s Dahisar West area on Thursday, when a young man was brutally murdered. The accused allegedly slit the victim’s throat with a knife over a grudge stemming from an argument on the day of Holi. The shocking incident created panic in the locality. Police, however, managed to arrest the accused within an hour of the crime.
According to police officials, the incident took place in Ganpat Patil Nagar in Dahisar West, where two youths had an argument on the day of Holi over parking a motorcycle outside their homes. It is suspected that the accused had been holding a grudge since that dispute.
On Thursday morning, between 10:45 am and 11 am, the two again got into an argument. The dispute quickly escalated, following which the accused, Krishna Yadav, allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked Bharat Adhav, slitting his throat.
Bharat Adhav sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the MHB Police Station rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation. Acting swiftly, police arrested the accused Krishna Yadav within an hour of the incident. The knife used in the crime has also been recovered.
Police are now investigating whether any other person was involved in the murder.
