A threatening call was made to the control room of the Mumbai Railway Police in the early hours of Monday, April 28, according to a TV report. According to a report by ABP Majha, the call was received at around 3 am from a person identifying himself as Irfan, claiming that railway stations and an office are the target.

During the call, the individual allegedly demanded Rs 5 crore or asked to be connected with government authorities. He also issued a threat, stating that he would target the railway network, army offices,  threatened harm to civilians and prominent hotels if his demands were not met.

Police told news agency IANS that the call was made via the railway control’s WhatsApp number and came from a Pakistan-based number. Police issued a high alert after a threat and are investigating the matter. Efforts are underway to trace the caller and verify the authenticity of the claims.
