A 64-year-old woman was found dead in Mumbai's Bandra area on Tuesday, February 11. Her hands were tied, and her neck was slashed with a sharp weapon, said a police official to the news agency IANS. According to the Bandra Police, the murder case has been registered against an unknown person and are investigating further. More details awaited. 

The victim was identified as Rekha Khonde, found lifeless at her residence in Bandra East in Kanchan Building Number 13 near Reclamation with her throat slit and hands tied, raising suspicions of a brutal attack.

According to police sources, the murder is believed to have taken place three to four days ago. The body was found late on Monday night. Police sent the body for post-mortem and registered a murder case. Later, they detained a suspect and questioned him. Authorities are investigating the motive and awaiting the post-mortem report to determine if sexual assault occurred.
