Two constables of Mumbai Police have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a forex delivery executive and stealing $10,000, according to the news agency IANS. The two Mumbai police constables, identified as Sandeep Shinde and Gajendra Rajput, are posted at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Jogeshwari police stations.

The kidnapping took place in Mumbai's Juhu area at a time when the delivery executive visited the client for delivery on Wednesday. The crime, spanning Juhu to Dahisar, involved assault and threats, while three accomplices remain at large.

According to the Mumbai Police, the victim had visited Juhu to deliver foreign currency to a client when he was stopped by five men, including constables Sandeep Shinde (33) and Gajendra Rajput (40). The accused allegedly kidnapped him and took him to Dahisar during the journey from Juhu to Dahisar, and they robbed him.

Shinde was arrested on the spot by Dahisar patrolling police officers after they saw a confrontation between a delivery executive and him. The remaining four accused fled the spot. During the interrogation, Shinde said the involvement of another constable, Rajput, who was also arrested later from his residence in Thane.

The incident, under investigation with CCTV footage, raises serious concerns about public safety when police officers misuse their authority.
