A video that recently emerged on social media has reignited concerns about reckless driving and the blatant disregard for traffic regulations in Mumbai. The footage, shared by a handle named Mumbai TV, captures a shocking scene on the heavily used Kurla CST Road, where six boys are seen riding together on a single scooter. The incident has raised alarm among residents and commuters alike, as the act not only endangered the lives of the riders but also posed a serious threat to other motorists using the busy stretch. The clip quickly gained traction online, sparking widespread criticism and calls for stricter enforcement.

The visuals in the clip reveal the scooter carrying far more passengers than it is designed to accommodate, making the ride extremely hazardous. One boy is seen standing dangerously at the rear edge of the vehicle, attempting to steady himself with a foot placed on the silencer. Four others are squeezed together in a cramped position, their legs awkwardly hanging on either side, while another appears perched partly over the group. None of them is wearing a helmet, further compounding the risk. The two-wheeler looks unstable under the excessive weight, yet it continues moving amid traffic without caution.

What has added to public concern is the apparent age of the riders, who seem to be minors. According to provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, individuals below the legal age are prohibited from operating geared scooters, making this a clear violation of the law. The act of carrying six people on a single vehicle also constitutes dangerous overloading. Observers have noted the riders’ casual attitude, as they appear unconcerned about the life-threatening risks involved. As the video circulates widely, it highlights the urgent need for tighter monitoring, stricter penalties, and stronger awareness about road safety norms.
