Mumbai Weather Update: Hot and Humid Conditions To Continue in City; Thane Likely To Touch 40 Degrees Celsius

Mumbaikars woke up with sweating and intense heat on Sunday morning, May 10, as the temperature had already crossed 30 degrees Celsius. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), the city continues to bear hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets till Monday, May 11. After that, dry weather is expected.

The city reached close to the 40-degree mark on Saturday, as temperatures in the suburbs rose in the afternoon. Ram Mandir witnessed as high as 39 degrees Celsius, followed by Vikhroli at 38.9 degrees Celsius and Chembur at 36.6 degrees Celsius. 

While Vidyavihar and Dahisar saw 35.7 degrees Celsius, Bandra reported 35.4 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) observatory in Colaba recorded 90% humidity and Santacruz saw 75% on Saturday.

RMC also issues a yellow alert for hot and humid conditions in Thane, Palghar and Raigad today. Thane and Navi Mumbai are mostly expected to see sunny and very warm weather throughout the day, which could touch 40 degrees Celsius, while the afternoon may bring a light breeze.

IMD argue citizens to Drink plenty of water, stay indoors during peak heat hours, wear light, breathable clothing and seek shade whenever possible.
