Mumbai Weather Update: Humidity Surges in City; Yellow Alert in Sangli, Solapur As Hot and Humid Conditions Likely Today

Mumbaikars woke up with scorching heat and humidity on Monday morning, April 13. The early temperature was 30 degrees Celsius in the early hours. Several districts of Maharashtra, including Sangli and Sholapur to face hot and humid conditions until April 15 as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert.

Over Air Quality Index (AQI) in the 'moderate' category. The daytime temperature is likely to rise to 36 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius.

Maharashtra Weather Update

The weather department has signalled that the maximum temperature has risen in recent days. North Madhya Maharashtra has recorded a notable increase, while heatwave conditions have strengthened in Vidarbha and Marathwada.

IMD stated that the temperature in the state is likely to increase 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next five days, which will create worsening situations. In Vidarbha, temperatures were recorded around 2 degrees Celsius, which is above the season average. Akola recorded the highest temperature at 43.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday, followed by Amravati: 42.4 degrees Celsius, Chandrapur 41 degrees Celsius, Gadchiroli 41 degrees Celsius, Wardha 42 degrees Celsius and Washim 41.6 degrees Celsius.

In Marathwada, Parbhani recorded 41.7 degrees Celsius, while Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has reported 40.4 degrees Celsius. Cities in Madhya Maharashtra, such as Jalgaon, Malegaon, Sangli, Solapur, and Jeur reported a temperature of 41 degrees Celsius.
