The body was found at a secluded path in the Ambepada locality near the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway, also known as NH-48, stuffed inside a sack, according to FPJ. Local people spotted a suspicious sack dumped near some bushes and alerted police after a foul smell emanated from it.
Pelhar Police Station reached the spot along with the forensic team to collect evidence. Based on the initial investigation, police suspect that the crime took place at a different location and the body was later dumped in this secluded spot to destroy evidence.
Police sent the body for an autopsy and launched an investigation to identify the victim.
