''Congress to stand for farmers'' rights''

The BJP government has implemented many laws which are against farmers'' interest, just to benefit a few industrialists. Due to this laws, farmers life will be miserable and hence Congress will stand with these farmers and fight for their rights, affirmed senior leaders from Congress. The city and district wings of Congress had organsied a programme to protest against the anti-farmer stand on the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi''s death anniversary and the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in city on Saturday. The Congress observed Kisan Adhikar Divas and staged a ''Satyagrah'' to protest against the anti-farmer and anti-labour laws. Congress city president MLA Vikas Thakre, rural district president Rajendra Mulak, senior leaders Nana Gawande, Adv Abhijit Wanjari, state secretary Atul Kotecha, Prashant Dhawad, Sanjay Mahakalkar, Gajju Yadav, Sanjay Meshram, Bhimrao Kadu, Anil Patil, Dinesh Banabakode, Dr Gajraj Hatewar, Kishore Gajbhiye were present.
Addressing the gathering, Vikas Thakre said, "The laws of the Central government are against the farmers and in the favour of speculators. The intention of the Central government is to ruin the farmers and labours and hence Congress will stand by them”. Rajendra Mulak said, "The government is trying to destroy the APMCs, which always support farmers. The law does not talk about providing any guarantee about the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops”.
