GM Raunak Sadhwani emerged winner in 40th st Veiter Jacques Leman International Open 'A' Chess Championship held in Austria on Saturday. 15-year-old Sadhwani scored 8.5 points out of the possible nine rounds. It was an incredible display of chess by Raunak who started the tournament with top seed and finished on the top with the rating performance of 2720 and also gained 12 ELO rating points. He remained unbeaten throughout the tournament with just one draw. He received cash prize of Euro 1200, a glittering trophy and set of Jadques Leman Watch.

After a second place in Silver Lake Open, Serbia last month this is the best performance in this current European tour of Sadhwani.

After notching up victory Sadhwani said, " I am happy with my performance. Winning a tournament, being a champion is always so special and a very nice feeling. I am glad that I kept myself focussed till the end and was able to perform well. I just want now to be focussed, keep myself motivated for my upcoming tournaments. I just want to play and enjoy this beautiful game of 64 squared without thinking much about result."
