Mr Amarjit Das, resident of Nagpur, had been experiencing persistent pain on the left side of his face and jaw, which progressively worsened over time. In the days before his hospital visit, the pain became so severe that he was unable to open his mouth fully, making it extremely difficult to brush his teeth, eat, drink, or even speak. Seeking relief, he visited Max Super Speciality Hospital, Nagpur, where the diagnosis suggested Trigeminal Neuralgia, a rare neurological disorder often described as sudden, severe, electric shock-like facial pain.
Following the diagnosis, the patient was admitted and subsequently underwent Microvascular Decompression, a specialised neurosurgical procedure performed by Dr Sandeep Iratwar, Director – Neurosurgery, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Nagpur.
