A delegation of MIDC Industries Association (MIA), led by its president P Mohan, visited Ramdeobaba University to explore the varsity’s innovation, incubation, and industry collaboration facilities.
The visit commenced at the RBU -Tata Technolgies Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation & Training (CIIIT), where Dr Y M Sonkhaskar informed about the Machine Learning & IoT Centre, Integrated Advanced Manufacturing Centre, and Innovation Design & Incubation Centre. He also explained how these facilities are being effectively utilised for industry consultancy, employee training, and student skill development initiatives.
The delegation visited the NVIDIA Centre of Excellence in AI & Deep Learning, featuring the advanced Blackwell DGX B200 GPU-based AI Supercomputer, Jetson devices for autonomous systems, and industry-recognised DLI certification programs.
A detailed overview of the facility was presented by Prof Abhijit Raipurkar. The delegation also visited the Centre for Microsystems, focused on specialised research in micro-technology, followed by Cyber Security & Digital Forensics Lab equipped with advanced cyber range simulations, digital forensics tools, network hardening systems, and certification-oriented training facilities.
The visit concluded with an interaction between the MIA delegation and vice-chancellor of RBU Dr. Rajesh Pande. Dr Pande informed about various patents and innovative technologies developed at RBU and discussed opportunities for commercialisation that could benefit industries, MSMEs, the institute, and society at large.
Prominent members of the MIA delegation included K K Daga, Manish Sawal, Rakesh Gupta, Charan Singh, Manish Malpani, Rajkumar Khandelwal, and Ajay Kumar. The visit strengthened the collaboration between academia and industry and opened avenues for future partnerships in innovation, research, skill development, and technology commercialisation.
