I-T dept holds 'Prarambh 2006'

The programme was conducted as part of the Department’s nationwide outreach initiative aimed at familiarizing taxpayers and stakeholders with the key features of the new Income-tax Act, 2025 and promoting voluntary compliance through awareness and engagement.

Director General, National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) Dr. Sibichen K. Mathew graced the occasion as the chief guest. Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Nagpur Sunil Umap delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the participants to the programme.

The technical sessions covered key provisions and major changes under the Income-tax Act, 2025, including Non-Profit Organizations, TDS, and Intelligence & Criminal Investigation. The programme also featured an audio-visual presentation, live demonstration of the AI-powered “KAR SAATHI” Chatbot, interactive Q&A sessions, and distribution of informational brochures.
