Twenty-three-year-old Om Bhoyar shared a motivational reel from a Nagpur gym, declaring that repeated failures would not stop him and that he would continue striving until he succeeded. The video showed him attempting a heavy deadlift multiple times, reflecting his determination and persistence. However, just hours after posting the clip on April 10, Om returned home and suddenly collapsed. He lost consciousness without warning, turning what appeared to be a routine day into a medical emergency. The unexpected incident left his family alarmed, especially given how normal he seemed shortly before the collapse.

Om’s mother, Aarti Bhoyar, who works as a nurse, quickly recognised the seriousness of the situation. Based on his symptoms, she suspected that he was suffering from paralysis likely triggered by a brain hemorrhage. Aware of the importance of the “Golden Hour,” the critical early window in which prompt treatment can significantly reduce damage, she acted without delay. Understanding that every minute mattered, she ensured he was immediately taken for medical care. Her professional knowledge and swift judgement proved crucial in preventing the condition from worsening during those vital initial hours.

Earlier that day, Om had spent several hours working out intensely at the gym. After he collapsed at home and entered the critical phase, doctors emphasised that the first few hours were extremely important for treatment. He was rushed to the hospital, where medical examinations revealed a clot in his brain. Doctors performed a mechanical thrombectomy, a procedure used to remove the blockage and restore normal blood circulation to the brain. The timely intervention helped stabilise his condition and played a key role in supporting his recovery and preventing further neurological damage.

Thanks to his mother’s quick response and the immediate medical attention he received, Om’s condition improved steadily. Over the following days, he responded well to treatment and showed encouraging signs of recovery. After remaining under observation and care, he was discharged from the hospital on April 21. The incident highlights the potential dangers of overexertion during workouts, especially without proper guidance or awareness of one’s physical limits. It also underscores how critical timely medical intervention can be in cases like hemorrhagic stroke, where rapid treatment can significantly improve outcomes and reduce long-term complications.
