A major breakthrough has been reported in the investigation of the Paratwada “video scandal” that shocked Maharashtra and drew nationwide attention. After five days of waiting, one of the eight identified victims, a 15-year-old minor, has finally come forward. Her official statement was recorded on April 18, significantly strengthening the case against the alleged mastermind, Ayan Ahmed. The minor was brought to Amravati district by women officers from the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Earlier, after explicit videos and photos surfaced online, allegations of sexual assault involving two girls had also emerged, intensifying the seriousness of the case.

Despite repeated appeals by rural police, victims had initially hesitated to come forward due to fear and social stigma. Under the supervision of Superintendent Vishal Anand, the SIT worked tirelessly and eventually traced the minor girl to Nagpur. While her exact origin remains unclear, officials confirmed she arrived from Nagpur to record her statement. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule also acknowledged this development. Investigations revealed that Ayan Ahmed had filmed objectionable content with multiple girls, which was later leaked online by his associate Uzair Khan following a financial dispute, causing widespread outrage.

The videos, reportedly 18 in number, along with 39 photos, went viral on April 11, prompting immediate police action. A case was registered against Ayan Ahmed on April 13, leading to his arrest the same night. So far, eight individuals have been taken into custody. Police confirmed that eight victims have been identified, with two cases involving confirmed sexual assault. The minor’s testimony could lead to additional charges under the POCSO Act. Meanwhile, forensic analysis of seized mobile phones is underway, with data from three devices already retrieved.
