A police inspector working in the city police department has been absconding after marrying a widow. When the woman came to know about this, she went and lodged a complaint with senior police officials. The Bharosa Cell of city police is looking into the matter.
The police inspector has been in news, from the time he has joined duty. The victim is from an affluent family in Amravati and use to stay with her son after her teacher father’s death after 2010. She got in touch with the said PI in January 2019 through Facebook. They became friends and were chatting for one year and the PI made a false promise of marrying her. She got ready for marriage. Her relatives objected to the marriage, but she went ahead and got married to the inspector in Kondapur village near Wardha at a religious place. They rented a place in Nandavan in a society and started staying together. A few days later, many women visited the apartment and also created a scene, when they got to know that the inspector has married a woman. The inspector convinced her to leave the flat and stay at a different location and rented a friends flat in Friends Colony, which belongs to a police officer.
In a few days the woman got to know about the affairs of the inspector and domestic violence started. He started beating and verbally abused her, but she still stayed with him. On February 18, he just left the woman and went absconding. He also blocked the number of the woman. The woman then contacted him through neighbour’s mobile. The inspector did not return and advised the woman to leave the place and go. The woman went and lodged the complaint with police, which was then directed to Bharosa Cell. The Bharosa Cell has also not acted on the complaint for more than a week now. The officials of Bharosa Cell are not even entertaining her and the woman is deeply anguished with the behaviour of Bharosa Cell. The woman has demanded a case against the police inspector.

The PI used to work in Zone 4, but was transferred to police control room, as his name surfaced during investigation in the case of a woman, who was arrested for cheating in the name of police department. These incidents, puts image of police department to shame and hence the senior police officials are taking the matter very seriously.
