Atharva Taide (4) batted for nearly 45 mins to add 39 runs for the opening wicket with Dhruv Shorey (74). Parth Rekhade (23), playing in place of Akshay Wakhare, got a promotion up the order and did full justice to it by adding 54 runs for the second wicket with Shorey.

After Rekhade was dismissed by Shivam Dube, young Danish Malewar batted fluently in Shorey's company. The duo added 51 runs for the third wicket before the latter was dismissed by Shams Mulani. Shorey's 74 came off 109 balls with nine boundaries.

Malewar and Karun Nair continued to frustrate Mumbai with a 78-run stand for the fourth wicket. Nair fell for 45, leaving Malewar and Yash Rathod to battle it out. They added 39 before Malewar fell for 79.

Rathod and Wadkar, however, made sure that there were no further hiccups and saw the team through to stumps. They have so far added 47 runs for the sixth wicket and will be looking to extend their association when play resumes on Day 2.

Vidarbha also made another change in their XI, bringing in Darshan Nalkande in place of Aditya Thakare who was ruled unfit on Monday morning because of an injury.
