80 doctors at Delhi’s Saroj Hospital test COVID-19 positive

India is currently dealing with a devastating second Covid-19 wave that has swept through the nation, crushing the country's health infrastructure and overburdening frontline medical workers. Even in the capital Delhi, Coronaviru situation appears to be critical. Meanwhile, the virus has reached at Saroj Hospital in Delhi where about 80 doctors at the hospital have tested COVID-19 positive while one doctor died of corona.

All OPD services at the Saroj Hospital in Delhi are now closed. Out of the total 80 doctors who tested positive for corona, 12 have been admitted to the hospital. All other doctors are home quarantined. The hospital's senior surgeon Dr AK Rawat also died of corona. The worrying thing about the corona crisis is that so many doctors in the hospital are corona positive.

Meanwhile, the covid situtaion in the capital Delhi appears to be critical. Citizens are losing their lives due to lack of bed, oxygen and timely treatment. This has raised the concern of the administration as the number of corona cases is increasing day by day. Therefore, the lockdown in Delhi has been extended by one week again. The lockdown will last till May 17 and the restrictions have been tightened. In the last few days, more than 13,000 new corona patients have been found in Delhi, while 273 have died. There are about 86,000 active patients in Delhi at present.
