Aizawl, Oct 25 Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and senior party leaders Jairam Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor would visit Mizoram to campaign for party candidates for the November 7 Assembly elections, party leaders said on Wednesday.

Mizoram Congress media cell chairman Lalremruata Renthlei said that Priyanka Gandhi and Tharoor are likely to visit the state to intensify the party campaign on November 3 and 4.

She is likely to campaign in Mizoram’s southern and western regions inhabited by people belonging to the linguistic minority.

Congress General Secretary Ramesh is expected to arrive in Aizawl on Thursday.

Accompanied by Mizoram Congress in-charge Bhakta Charan Das and senior observer Sachin Rao, he would brief the media on Friday and would hold meetings with state party leaders. They would also address election meetings during their stay in Mizoram.

Rahul Gandhi had campaigned for Congress candidates in Aizawl and south Mizoram's Lunglei town during his visit on October 16 and 17.

The Congress, which ruled the state till 2018, is making a bid to dislodge the ruling Mizo National Front.
