At least 18 people were injured after an explosion occurred at a pharma company in Anakapalle district, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, August 21. According to an NDTV report, the blast took place at the Escientia Company, a pharmaceutical firm's plant, located in the Special Economic Zone.

The injured individuals have been taken to Anakapalle Hospital for treatment. Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade and local police arrived at the scene, and efforts were made to extinguish the blaze, which was triggered by a reactor blast at the company.

The Anakapalle district collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) also reached the site to assess the situation. The explosion was reported during lunch hours from a reactor at the Escientia chemical factory premises.
